We share with you a piece of Fathi’s story, who is currently being held in the closed center of Vottem, to remember and to make sure that it will not be forgotten.
And to give a voice to so many other lives that the prison system wants to silence.
All those people who are criminalized by the Belgian state, arbitrarily arrested and imprisoned.
Those men and women whom the Belgian state decides are not allowed to remain on its territory and must be sent back to their “country of origin.”
All those stories they would like to erase, those realities they would like to trivialize.
Their language makes your blood run cold. So do their procedures.
To counter these narratives: give these stories back their meaning, their life, their space, and their memory.
No one is illegal.
Freedom for all and an end to the system of papers!
